Buying a flat in Kanjurmarg East: what the map shows
Kanjurmarg East has the city’s landfill and salt-pan wetlands on one side and the Central line on the other. We measured all 20 housing projects on our map against both, and against the nearest stations and air monitors. Here is the area as a whole — and what the map can’t tell you.

The landfill
The Kanjurmarg landfill covers about 1.4 km² in its OpenStreetMap outline. Here is how many of the 20 mapped projects sit within each distance of its nearest edge.

The salt pans

Former industrial land
4 mapped projects sit on or within 100 m of a former industrial compound in our layers. Old industrial use can leave questions about soil and approvals; a report traces what stood on the site, decade by decade.
